(From left to right) Dave & Barbara Eaton, Sherri & Bill Sandy, Amy & Jim Brock It was September 20, 2007, when the 6 founding members came together to form what is now referred to as "Corvette Renegades". The group agreed that the official date the club would be launched January 1, 2008. The original 6 were seeking to form a club where the emphasis was on fun for all members. It was quickly decided that the mantra of the club would be "If it ain't fun, don't do it". Meeting at the Village Idiot in Five Points, where else, the founding members came up with what the new club would be about and set down the guidelines that would guide the club in the future. Their first decision was it would be a club open to Corvette owners only. We would not have an offical board of directors, but crew leaders. A Captain (Dave), Lieutenant (Bill), Quartermaster (Barbara), Navigator (Jim), Warrant Office (Amy), and Purser (Sherri). A club name was decided on, Corvette Renegades, and from there on, the club started to grow. The main theme of having fun was the main purpose of the club and will be the main focus of this club from here on. Although there isn't a true "board" to lead the club, there are Crew Masters, the founding members. The members agreed that they would serve as leaders of the club for as long as they wished, or as long as the club wanted. The Lieutenant was designated as the one person who would serve as a liaison between the crew and the crew masters. The Lieutenant would be responsible to 'take out' the Captain, or mutiny, if needed. The Crew Masters would serve for as long as they wished and when the time came that they no longer wished to lead the crew, the crew would come together to decide who would like to take over as Capt'n of the crew by general election. Whoever leads the group, the main emphasis of the group must be, to have fun!
